Why is my opponent N/A?

At the begining of each "season" a complete schedule is randomly created with every opponent for that season. This schedule is created as if the division is full. So if your division has empty slots your opponent will sometimes be N/A when there is no player in the slot paired against you for that week.

Ex)
Slot 1 - test_player_1
Slot 2 - test_player_2
Slot 3 - test_player_3
Slot 4 - Empty

When Slot 1 is paired against Slot 4 test_player_1's opponent will be N/A.

What does this mean for me?

There are three main possibilities in calulating a winner in cases like this:

  1. You get a bye. This is unfair to you because it robs you of a chance to score 3 points.
  2. You get an automatic win. This is unfair to everyone else who has to play a real person that week.
  3. I come up with an abritrary point number for your "N/A" opponent that you have to beat to earn 3 points for the week. This is the most fair to everyone.

What is this arbritrary number?

Its not abritrary at all actually. It is the average scored by all the players across all the divisions of that league rounded up.

What happens if my opponent doesnt submit picks for that round?

They are treated as N/A

What happens if I dont submit picks for that round?

You get 0 points for the round.
You also score 0 goals for the round. Since goals scored is the first draw breaker this could be quite costly.

When do my picks need to be in by?

They need to be in by 23:59 GMT the day before the first match of that round. So if the first match for that round is scheduled for 10/12/2002, you're picks for the whole round need to be in by 23:59 GMT on 10/11/2002. I would recommend you not wait until 23:59 GMT for the simple fact that my clock might be wrong.
